Mayu Kanamori

April 2011

From Our School House was a site specific installation created by Mayu Kanamori in collaboration with Vic McEwan during her residency at the Old Birrego School which opened to the public on 15 April 2011 by Judith Blackall, Head of Artistic Programs, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.

To create the multi projection installation Mayu researched archived school documents dating back to 1886 and Vic and Mayu interviewed past students at the school house in order to uncover the history of the Old Birrego School.
