Listen, Now Walk is a work that brings together history, art, adventure, self reflection and play.
It uses sound and story telling techniques to encourage people to explore and to learn.
It turns the listeners into ephemeral sculptural forms moving around The Strand.

Listen, Now Walk is an attempt to make high impact site specific work which has little or no effect on the site but maximum impact on the veiwer/participant.

It serves to acknowledge the cracks in things.

The cracks in people
the cracks in history and
the cracks in the future.

It encourages exploration of the nooks and crannies and tries to provide some intimacy within a vast landscape.

Between 4th and 14th of September 2009, Listen Now Walk was be exhibited as part of Strand Ephemera 5 where it was awarded the festival "Innovation Award"

There are two ways people could participate.

1. Download the MP3 and map from this website, load them into their mp3 player, print out the map and take them down to The Strand.
2. There were a limited number of mp3 players already loaded with these audio files available at the information hub at the Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club.
